36th Annual Lumsden Duck Derby

FRIDAY, AUGUST 30

Jail and Bail
4:00pm - 8:00pm
Rink Parking Lot

Kicking off Duck Derby weekend is our Jail and Bail. Prominent Lumsden residents will be arrested and thrown into Jail on 3rd Avenue where they have to sell a book of tickets in order to get out. This year’s Jail will be right in front of Iron Bridge Brewery and the parking lot to the rink across the street will be blocked off for kids activites (3 on 3 tourney and games for prizes). Hillside Smoke N Que will provide food!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 31

Come Dance the night away with us! We have a 40 x 80’ tent set up on the ball field in River Park. There’s a fantastic DJ and full bar so grab your friends and prepare for a night you won’t soon forget!

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Pancake Breakfast
8:00am - 10:00am
Lumsden Centennial Hall

Brought to you by FreeBird’s own JP - you will not soon forget this pancake breakfast! “Best pancake breakfast I’ve EVER been to” $10 gets you breakfast and a Duck Derby ticket. Kids are free!

Trade Show

You will find everything from pottery to pickles at our street market. With an average of 25 vendors each year you’ll find food and other local artists sharing their crafts.

Kids aren’t going to want to miss out on any of this fun. Story time by Princesses Cinderella and Belle (11am), face painting, bouncy castles & more!

The stage is rockin’ all day long showcasing a variety of amazing local artists. Plus, a beer gardens to keep you hydrated!

Parade

Lumsden’s largest parade by far, you will see everything from the Shriners and their mini cars, to fire engines and business floats from Lumsden and beyond!

Duck Drop
2:30pm
West Side of James St Bridge

The Main Event! Up to 35,000 ducks will be raised by a crane and dropped into the Qu’appelle River to race down to the finish line. This years guest of Honour pulling the cord to drop the ducks in Randy Kuntz! Thank you Randy for everything you’ve done for the community!

Announce Winners
Approximately 5:00pm

The Race is over, the ducks have been collected and the winning ducks will be awarded to the lucky ticket holders. The 50/50 draw will also happen at this time. Can’t make it? We will live stream the event on our Facebook page.
